The Holy Bible that we hold in our hands is powerful. If you didn't already know, the Bible is the best-selling printed material of all time. But how do we know that the Bible we have today can be trusted? CLICK HERE to find out.
Its precepts are binding, its message ever-relevant, and its role in the salvation of mankind undeniable.

The Muslims hold on to the principles of the Quran, which was compiled from the teachings of one man, Muhammad, who claimed to have received inspiration from God. A run through of the Quran would reveal discontinuous, fragmented teachings that jump from one topic to another with no obvious chronological order. And as they believe in the Old Testament prophets and the patriachs, the Quran is somewhat regarded as a continuation of the Bible. And yet, the teachings contained therein contradict sharply with the teachings of Jesus. And its true essence, they believe, can only be appreciated when read in Arabic (which explains why Muslims need to learn the language).
The Bible, on the other hand, is a collection of 66 separate books, written over a period of 2,000 years by tens of authors, most of whom have no affiliations whatsoever with one another. And yet, as the books come together, they form a complete, continuous, consistent message: the message of salvation, in Christ. And the historical evidence fit in perfectly with the historical accounts of the Bible.
Language wise? Today, there are Bibles translated into hundreds of languages and yet its essence is maintain and captured in each translation. And the message contained in it remains relevant till this day. Irrefutable facts, profound truths, Holy Spirit inspired, and a miracle 2,000 years in the making, held in our hands today.
Which is all the more reason we need to take it seriously. Reading a passage or two daily for the sake of reading? You don't know how much unlocked power you're missing out there. So many miracles there waiting to happen. I ain't gonna wanna miss out on it. How about you?
A good way to motivate yourself to read is to think about how fortunate you are to be able to hold a Bible in your hands everywhere you go. When you look at the suffering church in places like China where you'll be punished under law for possessing a Bible, and where Christians tear up pages of a single copy of the Bible, divide it, memorize whole books and then swap pages with other Christians in secret, sometimes we really ought to be ashamed of the kind of emphasis we put on the Word of God. Anyhow, let us be encouraged by the fervency of our brothers and sisters in such countries and let us not forget the daily need for spiritual food.
Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every Word of God! ;D
