As For Me & My House, We're Gonna Serve The Lord!

Last Saturday, I could have gone to UV Nation (the biggest UV themed party in Malaysia) at 1-Utama's rooftop car park cuz I had free tickets to the party. Coincidentally, I had also won 10 tickets to Seventeen Magazine's Summer Splash & Summer Hunks at the Sunway Lagoon's Surf Beach (thanks to my younger bro Joe who made me enter some Hitz.TV contest).

However, I didn't go to either of the events cuz I had music practice with my music team for Sunday's worship session (the practice was from 3.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m.). Angeline was disappointed that I couldn't go to the UV Nation party with her and when I tried to explain that I wanted to focus my mind on Sunday's worship session (cuz I was the worship leader), she didn't quite understand. I didn't blame her though. I hadn't been very "Christ-like" lately so it was hard to explain to a non-believer that I wanted to put God first above everything else when the stuff I had been doing proved otherwise... =/

Hey, I just didn't wanna go home drunk on a Saturday night when there's church the next morning, aight?

I had a great early Father's Day dinner with my parents, eldest bro Kenneth, my sis-in-law Li Li, and their daughters Eunice and Lois; and my second elder bro Kelvin. The dinner was on my elder brothers cuz I already took my parents to Shogun for a Japanese buffet dinner two weeks after Mother's Day. It was a belated Mother's Day dinner... and early Father's Day dinner... hehehe... ;P

Here are some pics of my precious nieces:

Pretty baby... ^_^

When I took these pics of them, I realized that my family was worth skipping all those parties for. If I had gone to the UV Nation party or the Summer Splash thingie (my younger bro Joe skipped the Father's Day dinner just for the Summer Splash event... tsk tsk tsk...), I wouldn't be able to see my precious nieces and play with them. These two lil' angels are God's gifts to the Tai family, really. If it wasn't for His divine plan, I wouldn't be the proudest aunt in the world right now.

Looking back, the Lord has been faithful to the Tai family.

In 1993, a few friends of my Mom's from St. Gabriel's Church (SGC) came to my house to share the Good News with her. Although she was a baptized Christian, she never had a personal relationship with God. So after that day, my Mom started attending SGC and she brought my younger bro Joe and I along. I was eight years old and Joe was four. I still remember how fun it was to attend Sunday School and I usta share about what I learnt in Sunday School to my primary schoolmates and family members. At that time, my Dad, my elder bros, my Mom's sisters and their children (my cousins) weren't believers yet.

Somebody once told my Mom this: "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved - you and your household." (Acts 16:31). So she claimed that verse... that promise... and ever since then, she never stopped praying for my family, her sisters and my cousins. Eventually, my Dad came to know the Lord after seeing the drastic changes in my Mom. My once shy elder bros became more outgoing and talkative when they started attending the Youth Fellowship (YF) in church and they brought my other cousins along to YF too. Some of my Mom's sisters, who usta be wary of Christians, got touched by God at evangelistic events and they got saved. One by one, they came to know the Lord and my family and I got baptized together in 1995... ^_^

Now my Dad is serving as a guitarist in church. My Mom is the Church Administrator, MDC member, Evangelism Explosion (EE) Assistant Trainer, psalmist (back-up singer) and cell leader. My eldest bro Kenneth is a worship leader, youth cell leader and preacher. My second elder bro Kelvin is a bassist and one of the top musicians in the Music Ministry. I'm serving as a worship leader, psalmist, potential youth leader, EE member and part of the Publicity team in the GetReal'07 youth camp committee.

Just think... if those friends of my Mom's (who were EE members) didn't visit her that fateful day and invited her to SGC, the rest of us would never have stepped into SGC or even know Christ. Then Kenneth would never have met Li Li. And they would never have gotten married and have wonderful princesses like Eunice and Lois. If my cousin Aaron didn't come to know the Lord at an evangelistic event in SGC, he wouldn't have met Joanna, who's now his wife (they just got their first child Chloe in April). If my other cousin Jessie never went to SGC, she wouldn't have met Daniel (Ps. Peter Wong's eldest son) who later became my cousin-in-law (and he's now my youth cell leader too).

Everything does happen for a reason and in this case, I'm glad everything turned out so well for all of us. Now my family and I are attending the daughter church of SGC, which is SGC Life Sanctuary (SLS). Now it's an independent church and it's called Saving Grace Christian Life Sanctuary. My aunts and some of my cousins are attending SLS as well hence the Tais, the Yoongs and the Wongs make up nearly half the church congregation... hehehe... ;P
