... and move on to greater things. Lots of good things may have happened in your life, but if you keep relishing on those good things, you are limiting your potential from greater things! Some people succeed and live the rest of their lives in that one success, that one achievement... that they never move on to the next level of achievement, the next level of success.
What would our life be like if Jesus died on the cross, but stayed there and never moved on to the resurrection? Christ's death without the resurrection would have been the biggest waste of time. We could not be redeemed and set free from the bondage of sin without the resurrection. What I'm saying is, even Jesus had to forget the past. When Jesus heard about the death of John the Baptist, it made him weep. Jesus wept for John. Jesus had to let go of the past and move on to continue His work on earth.
So DO NOT ALLOW:
- the failures of yesterday keep you from trying something new.
- the past hold you back from what God wants to do in your life.
- the past keep you from doing all that God has called you to do.
The target is perfection. If we keep our aim on perfection, we may not hit the mark dead on all the time, but we will at least hit something around it. Perfecting yourself is your ultimate destination.
"We are glad whenever we are weak but You are strong; and our prayer is for Your perfection." (2 Corinthians 13:9)
Push on through those hard times, push on through those weaknesses. When all else seems to fail, press forward, push on, keep on keeping on. You will be blessed in the press!
