Yesterday, I discovered that Espressamente Illy @ Bangsar Village 1 doesn't only have the best Italian coffee in KL, they also have the best smoked salmon panini! I had always liked the smoked salmon panini at La Bodega (because they serve it with lemon caviar) but the one at Illy tasted healthier... =P

(Originally known as PhoenyX) We are the Experimental Rebels, naming ourselves after post-modern, avant-garde rock musicians from the 1960s.

Contrary to popular belief, our name was not derived from "Experimental Decibels" (although it does make perfect contextual sense). We are the Experimental Rebels, naming ourselves after post-modern, avant-garde rock musicians from the 1960s. The '60s was the decade of great music; where the experimental fusion of rock, soul, jazz and funk music reached its potential in becoming one of the most important art forms in the world.

We 'The Experibels' are the Experimental Rebels of the 21st century because we embrace the same rebellious spirit as our forefathers of rock 'n' roll, baby!

My whole world revolves around MUSIC. I come from a family of musicians: my mom Nancy (who's a pastoral team member) sings back-up, my dad Derek plays the guitar, my eldest brother Kenneth (who's a preacher and a former youth leader) sings the lead vocals, my second elder brother Kelvin plays the bass, and my younger brother Joe plays the drums.

In the Music Ministry, I was a lead vocalist and a keyboardist, and also a former youth leader of ChristClan. I'm also a songwriter (in 2001, I won an Original Composer Award in 'That '70s Talent Quest', organised by St. Gabriel's Church), a poet (I got a Merit Award from the International Society of Poets; some of my poems were published and recorded in the US), a scriptwriter (I wrote, directed and produced ChristClan's debut stage play: 'Fallen From Grace') and sort of a dancer (I was a member of a dance troop called 'People of Power'; we toured the country a few times).

I've won awards in singing competitions and I've also performed at special events like youth concerts, Christmas stage plays, Easter concerts, church anniversary dinners, charity dinners, weddings, proms, etc.

The apostle Paul makes it very clear that God's people are "more than conquerors" in Jesus Christ. It is important that we renew our mind to what the Word of God says about us and think about ourselves the way the Bible says we are to think about ourselves. We are not losers, wimps, cowards, and fearful people. Our identity must be based on the Word of God, which says "we are more than conquerors." Those shouldn't just be religious words. We need to see ourselves as God sees us, because that's who we really are. We are more than conquerors!
