I've also learnt that the so-called "survival tips" given by certain "wise" ppl on the Internet DUN HELP AT ALL. E.g. putting your finger on the mirror to detect 2-way mirrors, etc. THIS METHOD DOES NOT WORK!!! PLEASE!!! Tips given by the Fire & Rescue Dept. are way more reliable than what you read in magazines and on the Internet! DUN BE SO NAIVE, PPL!!!
The main trainer, Vol. Capt. K. Balasupramaniam. PKPB. PJB (aka Bala) is the founder of The Malaysian Volunteer Fire & Rescue Association (MVFRA). He was a member of Malaysia Fire & Rescue Cadet Cops for three years and obtained his basic knowledge in Fire & Rescue in the Academy of Fire & Rescue in Kuala Kubu Bharu in 1988. On 20th May 1999, Bala was awarded the highest award of the Fire & Rescue Dept., the PINGAT KETUA PENGARAH BOMBA (Honory title of PKPB) by the Director-General of Fire & Rescue Dept. YAS Prof Datuk Dr. Soh Chai Hock for his contributions towards the country in safety and rescue related matters. He's a 30-something Indian guy who has a great sense of humor. He's prolly the funniest guy I've ever met and the ladies who went for the training totally love him... He cracked us up the whole time! =D
The past few years have been especially traumatic for women and children as we read and hear about violent crimes against women and female children: car thefts, muggings, bag snatching, sexual harassment, domestic violence, kidnappings, rapes and murders. Why should our women and female children live in fear? Our women and children have the right to be safe, and feel safe and confident when they are on the streets.
While the laws/regulations are in the process of being amended to give more protection towards women and children, we should do our very best to create awareness and make them street wise. So ladies... pls visit this site http://www.oshdynamics.com.my/oshholdings/index.htm for more info.
After 10 long years of research on violence against women and updating ingenious techniques used by rapists and snatch thieves, Bala showed us the ways to counter perpetrators. We were able to see and be better informed of the latest gadgets used by rapists, perverts, robbers, snatch thieves, etc. The practical session enabled us to practice and familiarize the defensive and escape techniques effectively.
