5th Day Of Internship At Batey Ads

Today went by uneventfully. I reached the office at 8.30 a.m. and stared into spaces for a while cuz I was really sleepy (I didn't sleep the night before cuz I was trying to call Eric Cham from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m.). So I decided to read the book that Abbas (one of my mentors) told me to read. It's called "Asian Branding: A Great Way To Fly" by Ian Batey, the founder of Batey Ads. At 10 something, I went up to Eric Foo's office in the Account Management Department and we had a discussion for about 15 mins. Eric Foo told me to select the TM Online ads from Maryam's folio that met the creative brief that I did the day before. And he told me to meet him at 3 p.m. to discuss the rationale behind every ad that I chose. Oh btw... I didn't go to the radio ad recording nor the video shoot today... cuz I was too sleepy to go out... and I had to do some stuff for Eric Foo anyway.

Since I had 5 hours to do the task, I went back to my desk and checked my e-mail. I read the e-mail that Eric Cham sent to me and I had to hold back my tears cuz the e-mail really broke my heart. I went to the toilet and stayed there for almost an hour... and I cried like a baby there. Thankfully, my colleagues from the Creative Department went out for appointments/lunch at that time so nobody asked why I was in the loo for so long.

Anywayz, by 2.55 p.m., I had finished my task and I was prepared to present my work to Eric Foo. He seemed pleased that I was able to give constructive comments on the ads and he taught me how to make sure the visuals of an ad complement the tagline really well. Then he gave another long lecture on support media/ambience connection. It was really interesting actually... and I learnt a lot from him. The discussion ended at 5 something. So I went up to my desk, checked my e-mail again, replied Eric Cham's e-mail and I left the office at 5.30 p.m.

What happened after that... well, I prefer not to disclose... let's just say I almost ended my life today... ='(
